Today, untraditionally, I add a recipe on Saturday. Since I´m going to bake something savoury for New Year´s Eve tomorrow, I thought that today is better – one can be inspired, bake tomorrow and he/she still has some time until Monday 😀 For those who are fed up with Christmas sweets, New Year´s Eve is a rescue, sweet changes to savoury. I was wondering what savoury I could make. I decided for Cheese Straws with Rosemary and Puff Pastry. Recipe for them is very quick, simple and you don´t need lots of ingredients. The combination of cheese, rosemary and mustard may seem strange, but when you taste it, you find out that these flavors really match. Match to the point that I made one batch and later in the evening I made another one, one batch was already eaten, I don´t even know how. These straws are perfect for New Year´s Eve.

Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface into a rectangle shape.

Grate cheese.

Chop rosemary into small pieces.
-
Sprinkle cheese, and later rosemary, over the half of pastry covered with mustard.
-
Fold the empty part of pastry over rosemary and cheese so it covers them.

Press down the edges of pastry using a fork.

Cut the pastry vertically into stripes.

Transfer each stripe on a baking pan covered with baking paper. Twist each stripe into a spiral.
-
Brush puff pastry on stripes with beaten egg.

Bake about 20 minutes on 180 degrees, until golden brown.
