Mila Truffles (Chocolate Milk Cream Truffles)

Jump to Recipe

I’ve been making different variations of truffles for Christmas for a few years now. They are easy to prepare, usually don´t require a lot of ingredients, and they disappear at the speed of light during Christmas. I always take one when I walk by, then I don’t even know how and they’re gone. Maybe it’s because they have a perfect bite-size. I’ve been making these Mila Truffles for the second year in a row and they’ve been quite successful at work too. Truffles are made with Mila wafers. Mila wafers are traditional Slovak wafers, made with milk cream filling and top covered with dark chocolate. They are a perfect combination of vanilla and chocolate. In truffles, I added milk powder and a good amount of vanilla extract to accentuate the milky tasty. They are covered in chocolate, so they really taste like Mila wafers. The dough is slightly crunchy thanks to the crushed wafers but also nicely creamy thanks to the butter and milk powder. Be sure to use regular butter in the truffles, not substitutes like vegetable fat, that would ruin the flavor. Mila Truffles are full of vanilla, chocolate, crunchy and creamy at the same time – they just combine everything good.
