Hot Christmas Orange Juice

Here we are, December 24. Firstly, I´d like to wish you Merry Christmas, pleasant atmosphere around Christmas tree and also lack of stress, I think we had enough of it so far. Secondly, new recipe is here. Not for a cake, as usually, since you have probably been eating cakes and cookies for few days until now, but for a drink, namely Hot Christmas Orange Juice. I´ve got a flu and I´m on antibiotics so an alcoholic drink is out of the question. Hot chocolate isn´t the best option either. But this Orange Juice Drink is exactly what you take when you´re sick and also when you´re sick of ginger tea. You can also feel Christmas coming, thanks to Christmas spices, and you don´t even have to drink a punch. And if you´re healthy, you can drink it just like that, to warm up during a winter. Anyway, it´s suitable for everybody. It´s actually hot orange juice with Christmas spices, so it´s not difficult at all, only tasty

Simple non-alcoholic orange juice with Christmas spices to warm up during cold days
Servings: 2 cups
Ingredients
  • 500 ml 100% orange juice
  • 2 small cinnamon sticks
  • 1 ½ pieces star anise
  • ½ tsp whole cloves
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 3 tbsp icing sugar
Instructions
  1. Pour orange juice in a pot and warm it up a bit.
  2. Add cinnamon, star anise, cloves, lemon juice and icing sugar. Stir.
  3. Cook it on medium heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Set it aside and let spices brew for 15 minutes.
  5. Then discard spices and warm the juice up again a bit.
  6. Serve it warm.
