Creamy Apple Cocoa Cake Bars

Apple season is not over yet, therefore you can still use them in some cake. Preferably in the one which is of a great amount, with quick preparation and with no special ingredients needed. These Creamy Apple Cocoa Cake Bars fulfill all three criteria. You make it in a large baking pan so the whole family can have a few bars. When it comes to ingredients, you really don´t need anything special for it, just regular stuff which you already have at home. Its preparation is simple, you can even mix everything in just one bowl. As you can see, the bars are creamy, although there is flour in batter you can´t really taste it. There are also cocoa and grated apples in batter therefore the cake is really soft and moist. You can see that it is moist when baking since the toothpick inserted into the cake will be still wet after 30 minutes of baking, so no worries. Its taste is similar to custard, although you don´t even use it here. Top can be decorated with chocolate, therefore underline chocolate and cocoa taste.

Quick and simple cocoa cake bars with apples in batter, which taste like custard
Servings: 35 pieces
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 300 g crystal sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 packet of baking powder (12 g)
  • 600 ml milk
  • 80 g melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 300 g apples
  • Icing:
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp oil
  1. Mix the flour with cocoa and baking powder.
  2. Add milk, butter and eggs.
  3. Peel apples and grate them. Incorporate them into batter.
  4. Mix batter and pour it in the baking pan covered with baking paper.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Let it cool and decorate it with icing.
  6. Icing:
  7. Melt chocolate and oil in water bath or in a microwave.
  8. Stir well and pour it over the cooled cake.
