Čokoládový chlebík s hruškami

Chocolate Pear Bread

I don´t have as many pears as I usually did previous years, but I managed to find a few for a cake. I wanted to try Chocolate Pear Bread last year, but you need firm, not soft pears so I had to wait until this year. This Chocolate Pear Bread is really simple, quick and you don´t need any special ingredients for it. The recipe is similar to the Strawberry Cocoa Loaf Cake I already have on the blog, but I added a bit of chocolate so it is really chocolate, not just cocoa bread. You put washed pears with skin in the raw batter in a baking pan. Thanks to the baking, pears get soft. It is a simple, not time-consuming bread with lots of fruit, since you use five pears (although it depends on their size). It is not dry and, thanks to the juice from the pears which is released during baking, it is soft and yummy. Moreover, it looks good, it is great as a breakfast or a snack and the combination of chocolate and pears never gets old.

Simple bread made with cocoa, chocolate and fresh pears
Servings: 15 pieces
Ingredients
  • 200 g butter
  • 200 g crystal sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 50 g melted dark chocolate
  • 225 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 packet of baking powder (12 g)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 5 washed not too soft bio pears with skin
Instructions
  1. Beat butter with sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, then cooled melted chocolate, beat again.
  3. In the next bowl, toss together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  4. Incorporate the flour mixture into the butter mixture and stir well.
  5. Put baking paper in a baking pan.
  6. Pour the batter in the baking pan and spread it evenly. Put the pears in the middle tightly, just behind each other.
  7. Bake at 180 degrees for 50 – 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted will come out clean. The batter close to the pears will be a little bit wet since it soaks the juice from the pears, but after times time, the toothpick should be relatively clean.
  8. After taking out from the oven, let the cake cool, then take it out from the baking pan.
